Furniture Fusion (FF) specialise in the supply of contract and bespoke furnishings for the hospitality industry. We've been working with the company since 2022, when we delivered a brand refresh and new website to re-invigorate their business.

Most recently we collaborated with the FF team to develop a concept for their stand at hospitality industry exhibition HIXLDN 2024. Building on the event theme 'A sense of place' we developed a concept rooted in the grounding presence of music in our sense of self and the listening experiences that help form this. 

Inspired by Japanese 'Kissa' bars, which first appeared in the 1920's to allow those who couldn't afford Hi-Fi equipment to listen to LP's, we created a social space where visitors could choose from a selection of 24 albums, each featuring enlightening portraits of the artist on the cover. 


Campaign

'Your Face, Our Place' is intended as a cheeky invitation to the show that plays on the idea of a face as a window into our sense of self and in-directly our sense of place. 

We used features of the selected LP covers to create jumbled compositions of hybrid faces, perhaps suggesting that music itself plays a part in defining who we are.

Stand

Inspired by the Kissa bar aesthetic the FF stand allowed visitors to relax, interact with staff over a drink but also to play a record, perhaps their choice gave away something about themselves?

Furnishings were selected by the FF team in collaboration interior designers Jones AD.

Event

The Furniture Fusion stand was a highlight of the HIXLDN event drawing large crowds, all of whom took pleasure in interacting with staff, securing their merch and of course playing records. 

FF were featured in the HIX 24 trend report for embracing such a disruptive approach to the traditional furniture exhibition stand.

The HIXLDN 24 project had it's own landing page on the FF website, which we created as a fully content managed, responsive platform that allows the client ultimate flexibility.

We also created a range of content for social platforms that teased the build up to the event and contextualised some of the ideas.

Throughout the collaboration, Graphical House acted as our guiding force. As our brief evolved over time, their expertise and experience were instrumental in transforming our concepts into a visually stunning reality.
